I love this place! Everything on their menu is good, the pizza on other hand is great! The crust isn't thick and filling and it's not too thin and soggy, just perfect!
Very kind staff! Their deep dish pizza is delicious. Lots of great options if you have gluten free or vegan friends.
Got talked into doing a deep-dish pizza (which I've never actually tried before and honestly had no interest). But I have to say... Pretty dang good!!! I have nothing to compare it to, but I thought it was delicious and I was surprised at how the crust was able to maintain it's structural integrity while containing all that gooey goodness!!! I'd definitely go back!
Ordered "deep dish" south side classico and Western Addition. Not sure why people have commented that this was the Chicago deep dish they've been looking for since it's basically thin cornmeal crust in a pie pan. Not to say the pizza is bad. If you're looking for a pizza that isn't greasy, very different texture than traditional crust, and decent bang for your buck then this is adequate. Deep dish to me is more like the chain Giordano's, where 1 slice is the equivalent to this whole pizza and takes an hour to bake. The ingredients we're good. I like the distribution and quantity on the pizza. Appreciated the eco friendly box that you can use as plates. Small size was good for a mid-day meal, get the large for supper.
Never trust them to get a delivery order right if you get anything other than pizza. Every time we order delivery something is left off the order - a dessert, garlic bread, or dipping sauce.
The place is very nice, staff is super friendly and the pizza was amazing. I can't remember what I ordered but it had procciuto, arugula, goat cheese and some other stuff. The dough was excellent. A bit pricey but great.
Great food, great service. This is our second year coming with my daughter’s whole volleyball team and parents. PI is so accommodating and set us up with a great spread and space. Parents can enjoy some great beers while the team enjoyed many thin and thick crust pizzas, two nice salads and absolutely delicious garlic bread! Definitely quality food and the staff is so attentive and nice. Got to try it, we’ll be back.
Pizza was pretty good (the Buck-something) - each ingredient was very good and of quality. But the large-chunk tomato sauce on the very top was just barely too strong and overwhelmed the individual flavors of the other ingredients. Chips and dip very good. Server a bit slow, but on pointe with our order.
We did a carry out order for a South Side Clasico deep dish pizza and it was fantastic. This is my new go-to place when I'm going to see a Caps game. The bartenders and waiters are super friendly and everybody seems to be enjoying them self every time we go in there.
The sauce, the dough, the toppings and cheese were all spot on. Very fresh and flavorful. We also split a Greek salad, which could use some improvements, as it has very few toppings (we added tomatoes ourselves). But the dressing was great. Overall really great and will order again!
Excellent service and food. We were a little worried that seating would be an issue since we were having dinner on Super Bowl Sunday, but we were received well and seated with 5 minutes. With the help of the server, we were able to make the right decision in size of pizza to order. Since it was just my husband and I, we felt like a small would appease our appetites but it turned out that we definitely needed a large. The pizza was excellent and the cornmeal used in the crust really makes a difference. Will definitely pass by again whenever we're in the area.
Good variety of pizza options, including crust styles. Drink menu had plenty of options to please everyone. Sat with a group of 9, service was very good. Would definitely go back and try other items.
This is my favorite pizza for DC, took guest from LA there and he agreed. Great ingredients and a crust recipe that cannot be beaten, first class every time. The gluten free crust is a winner also and top of my wife's list. The specialty pizzas are all easily good choices. ADA friendly facility, wide doors and isles. Really respectful of my service dog, friendly staff willing to go the extra mile to make you experience memorable. Unique historic building, great atrium space for parties. Hit the hot yoga next door first!
Very very good deep dish pizza, different too. The crust was not greasy and heavy. The service was great, the drinks were fantastic, I definitely recommend this place! I'm glad we ventured out of our way when we were in DC to go here.
Great pizza, solid beer selection. The deep dish isn’t traditional deep dish, it’s made with cornmeal so it’s lighter. It may not be for everyone but if you like cornbread you’ll probably like the deep dish here. The thin crust is a solid choice as well. It does get crowded so plan accordingly
I visit this place whenever I'm in DC. Amazing deep dish pizza! A really cool interior with, just, amazing pizza. Vegetarian options though as far as I know no dairy free options. Handicap accessible. They have a bar as well.
OMG, You know i’ve had one deep dish pizza in my life and it was when I was in 7th grade at Uno’s in chantitly after seeing national treasure. So yeah this was basically the first deep dish i’ve ever tried soberly and can remember(sorry chicago). I can see why this is Obama’s favorite pizza, perfect crust, just the right amount of sauce and cheese. It’s better the second slice, trust me.
Great place. Lots of room. The service was quick and courteous. We had forgotten to order a pizza for someone with food restrictions along with the rest of the meal. Our order was prioritized and we were able to enjoy the meal together as a group. The food was fantastic. Go try it out for yourselves. You will enjoy the experience.
I love this pizza!!!! I take everyone who visits DC with me to try it— nothing like an awesome pizza after a day of lobbying or really anything else. They even have (good!) gluten free crusts, which are helpful to be able to take home to my grandma. Highly recommend. Tends to be busy but I often order to-go and it’s quick and delicious.
Amazing cornmeal crust deep dish. Been to chicago... make my own...this is legit. better than Chicago's numerous pizza locations.
Descent wood firedpizza. Not too much dough or sauce. Had a veggie pizza and next time I'll try the Ajarski Khachapury. That looks pretty good!Plenty of parking next door and they said to pick up in 25 min but it was ready in 15-20.Nice and clean facilities. Looks like they upgraded since the last time i was there.
Not many deep dish pizza options in DC but this one fills the void. Deep dishes are cornbread. Try the Brooklyn. Lots of seating especially for large parties. Close to the Portrait Gallery for a fun date night.
Serious deep-dish in an area where that is hard to come by. I did a custom pie and it came out excellent. Crust was perfect, the dough was just right, and the toppings were excellent. Great deep-dish spot in the City.
Food is delicious and our server was great. They messed up our order but immediately fixed the issue! I would return.
Good food the only problem is with how the system works here. They have a wait line that should've took 20 minutes but took 30. I walked around and there were tables clearly open but nobody seated. My guess is that they're short staffed... even so this place looks usually popular so they should know by now what they're dealing with. Good interior but don't have all the toppings when I went.
Very good pizza and excellent service. Great option for dining(pizza and beer)...I had the deep dish pizza with spinach and cheese and my guest ordered "The Hill".....both very good.Salted Caramel for desert is a great way to cool the palate after a meal.Enjoy!
My husband and I tried this place for the first time, we really really enjoyed the crust on the deep dish pizza. I created my own and I can promise you, adding the seasoned beef to your pizza is a GREAT choice. Service was great and food came out in a timely manner. Wonderful place to come and chill. The atmosphere is nice and light. You can do date night, chill night or come by yourself quick bite night!
Thin was very good. Chicago style was ok. I would not order the Chicago style again. Staff was fantastic I have to say.
The staff was attentive and the food didn't take long to be served. I didn't think the pizza stood out in any way but it was good. I'm gonna try a few more places before I came back.
We’re here visiting from NM and happened by this spot. We read reviews before coming in and we’re so happy we gave it a try, wish we had this place in NM!!! First off the place was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, it smelled great and the food was amazing! Being a vegetarian I’m pretty picky about my food, the GF beer and GF pizza was delicious- I way overate!!! I’d love to visit again next time :) All the others I came here with loved the food too! Those deep dish pizzas looked incredible 😍
I like this place a lot; however, the quality has gone downhill quite a bit the last 3 months. Very unhappy the last 3 orders. Low cheese count, late service, sloppy work, and being served week plus old desserts written on the top of their lids (7-23 on a delivery of 7-31). Get outta here with that cheapness. Stop cost cutting for a few bucks, don’t even pretend you’re “struggling” - $82 for 2 pizzas and a slice of week old cheese cake. It’s a shame. Used to be amazing.
We loved it!! We will definitely be back, we ran in for dinner before a CAPS game. Our waiter was amazing he was very friendly and helpful in helping us decide what to order. And was able to accurately explain the menu. We decided on their Chicago style deep dish pizza, with toppings of our choosing. The small 9" was plenty for two.the crust was perfect with a nice crunch. Our waiter also suggested a small salad as an appetizer, which was plenty for both of us to share. We also decided to try the apple pie ala mode. It was deep dish apple pie with a oatmeal crisp topping. We can't wait to go back.
We had great pizza here. The deep dish did not disappoint. It had some cornmeal in it so it was not soggy. If you like a lot of sauce, this pizza is for you. It tastes fresh and authentic. This is not delivery style pizza. It's very high quality and with the wait. The salads were another highlight. I liked the kale based salad minus the chickpeas. The Caesar salad had fresh croutons and the right amount of dressing. The ranch dressing tasted fresh and homemade. I would highly recommend this stop if you're in DC.
Great experience. Had a deep dish custom pizza. Worth for money! Recommended for both their pizzas and craft beers.
Delicious but pricey! It's a good place to come often if you can afford it. I can only account for the thin crust. I'f I were to bet I'd say the crust was home made. The sauce is rustic and slightly on the bold side. All the ingredients are fresh too. It's a quality pizza. The crust has a crispy bottom but maintains a slight chewiness. Just how I like it!The picture doesn't do it justice (and it's a bit blurry.) So you got to try it for yourself.
Absolutely delicious. We ate the deep pie pizza and were very impressed. Wide range of toppings to select but if you want a "traditional" style or dare I say "hipster unique" style they can make it. I believe there were 4 varieties of crust and we saw some very delicious thin crust others were eating. Nice selection of beers, wine, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic selections. We experienced great service as well. The olives were served heated...that was delicious! The roasted peppers in the picture was a nice appetizer as well.
Absolutely delicious! We dined in this restaurant on a Friday evening and were seated rather promptly considering it appeared to be peak hours. Their Caesar salad is absolutely divine and pairs well with their house-made rustic garlic bread. The pizza certainly has a ton of cheese, maybe even a tad too much, however the crust and sauce balance it out very well. We will return the next time we visit the nation's capital!
I stumbled upon this little gem on Saturday during my DC visit. The place was simply chosen based on proximity as I was walking back to my hotel from the store. I wanted pizza and it was close. We ordered a basic cheese deep dish because we assumed nobody could mess it up. It was amazing. Now, that I am back home, I am sad that this pizza place is not near me. Best pizza ever? Maybe not, but delicious and a nice change of pace? Absolutely. Would I recommend? You better believe it.
Best deep dish pizza I've ever had.
A nice place to go of you want a deep dish pizza. Just keep in mind it takes a wee bit longer to cook deep dish pizza, for us it took 25 mins for the pizza to get there. There was plenty of seating and our waiter was tentative, he took good care of us. Definitely a fan
Awesome pizza, the Deep dish cornbread pizza is amazing. almost as good as Chicago deep dish
Went here on a Monday evening. Our server, Kyle, was very attentive and friendly. We ordered three meatballs for an appetizer, and they came loaded with sauce and smothered in cheese. My wife had the deep dish pizza, and I had the thin crust with pepperoni, olives, onions, and mushrooms. Both pizzas were terrific! The atmosphere was great, and the draft craft beers were terrific! Awesome experience!
Ive purchased from here before jad great experience, i orderd a pepperoni deep dish and was so disappointed, first off they're was barely any cheese and peperonI, just a bunch of tomato sauce on top like really!
Awesome pizza - meat was crisp, thin crust was perfect. Great beer selection, fast service right before a caps game. Highly recommend!!
This is a great pizza joint. We loved the atmosphere and the pizza was great. It is conveniently located for a quick rest stop when you are exploring all the information and monuments in Washington DC. Service was really good and as mentioned, pizza was great.
It was the best deep dish pizza I've ever had. They use pie crust for the pizza and it crumbles into deliciousness with the toppings. The quality of food & service, price, and ambiance - everything was top notch! Highly recommended.
Love this pizza. Been there probably 10 times now and always consistently delicious. We always get one of their specialty pizzas on deep dish - awesome flavor combinations and the deep dish is the best- not doughy or super heavy- just right plus a nice crispness to it due to the cornmeal. And no the crust has no corn taste. Have taken numerous friends and family there and everyone comes away saying it's some of the best pizza they have ever had. Decent beer menu, good service, cool interior of the building which is all nice, but the pizza really is great.
I had a great experience at Pi Pizzeria. The staff genuinely cared about me as a customer and insured that I knew the details about each option on the menu and provided me with great recommendations. This is the #1 pizza spot in the city.
Kudos to the kitchen, food was delicious. Visited DC with family and easily one of the best meals we had here. The customer service was terrible though. We got put at a high top table and the bartender barely helped us. He got us food and then water and brought out our food.. then that was the extent of us seeing the bartender. The bartender seemed to be way too concerned and busy with chatting with the employees. We had to ask for water refills after sitting there for about 20 minutes without seeing the bartender. Highly disappointing, unfortunately I will not be recommending this place to friends//family.
It was decent. The wings were soggy , and the Western Addition was good once I took some of the tomatoes off. The kids had fun and enjoyed the cheeses pizza.
